FELCOM-15 is FURUNO's new Inmarsat-C mobile ground station. It provides high-quality two-way data and telegraph communications between ships and other components at sea or on land. The emergency alarm is activated by an isolated emergency alarm. Emergency information including the ship's location is easily edited. A computer can be used to compose information over an Ethernet network when it is provided with specialized software.

The FELCOM-15 includes an antenna and display unit with keypad. The display is comprised of a 10.4 inch color liquid crystal display and a processor. Emergency alarm button is integrated on the display for emergency situations. Utilities files and programs on a floppy are loaded onto the microprocessor via the floppy drive located in front of the display. The compact omni-directional display and antenna make installation space-saving. An optional GPS receiver unit is available for location reporting without operator intervention.
